OM Arts School of Mission

A 3 month programme to train people with artistic skills in music, dance or the visual arts for longer-term ministry

As a student in a school of 12 to 24 artists – including dancers, musicians and visual artists – you will learn and practice an incarnational approach to ministering through the arts. The program will be structured around 3 courses: “Biblical Foundations for Ministry through the Arts,” “Spiritual Formation of the Artist” and “The Cross Cultural Artist”. Learning will happen through reading, lecture, group discussion and creative assignments. The training will be based at the OM Italy centre in N.Italy

Student artists will be given much practice living out their learning and artistic expression in a local, Italian community and church. The people of these communities will be the inspiration for creative response and collaboration throughout the program, culminating in a final exhibition and event.

Although there will not be an emphasis on teaching technique, much studio time will be given for students to develop their craft.

Teaching, coaching and discipleship will be led by OM Arts staff, OM Italy staff and by visiting art practitioners and missionaries. Beside visiting the local city of Turin, short trips will be made to Florence and Rome.
